City tours

On Thursday 25th the delegates can discover the host city. The four choices are the following:

1. Walking Tour
Explore Zurich, Switzerland’s biggest city, by foot. Discover how a small city founded during the Roman times became today’s discreet financial empire. Local guides committed to providing everyone with the best available tour will show you around this beautiful city and inform you about the history of Zurich. The tour shows the great diversity of the city and will provide you with important historical and cultural facts about it. There will be three tours of about 2 hours that will all start at different times and will provide a place for 80 people or five Committees respectively.

2. Boat tour
Discover Zurich from a different perspective: from the lake. Who wouldn’t enjoy a boat ride on a nice summer’s day, looking at the city and its skyline from a distance? Have a drink on the deck with your fellow committee members, the perfect time and place to get to know each other even more while marveling at the distant Alps. There will be two boats leaving at two different times for a ride of around 1.5 hours and will respectively take 80 people or five Committees to capture a great view from the beautiful lake and the city.

3. Üetliberg
Enjoy the most breathtaking view over the city. This is one of the most exclusive places for people who want to see the city from above. Have a different look at Switzerland’s landscapes while enjoying the fresh air of the mountains. Being far away from the city and yet able to see the city perfectly, you will discover one of the peculiarities of our country. Have a drink with your fellow committee members in this great scenery and be sure you will want to come back to Zurich. No need to worry, hiking shoes aren’t needed as there is a train that will bring you up there. 64 people or four Committees respectively will have the chance to enjoy this trip.

4. Kunsthaus
Last but not least: an insight into contemporary and past (Swiss) artists. The coolness of museums are most welcome on very hot summer days. A guide will lead you through the Kunsthaus and inform you about all the different kinds of art in the museum. You will be able to see the complete art collection but also some great current exhibitions that are in the Kunsthaus, such as the Hubert Looser collection, which focuses on Abstract Expressionism, Minimal Art and Arte Povera, presenting works from famous painters you must have heard of, for instance Pablo Picasso and Alberto Giacometti. One committee will exclusively enjoy a two hours guided tour through the Kunsthaus, getting an artistic insight of Zurich.
